AUTOTEST REPORT DECEMBER 2008
With an entry of seven competitors, Peter Dorey commenced the event with some quick times whilst brother Martin collected a 10 point penalty on the first test, and with some quick drives, was still behind at the halfway point. However Peter was too busy assisting changing the course and did not notice two changes of direction and so incurred 30 penalty points, leaving Martin to take the honours by some 14 seconds.
Peter Jory in a Civic drove very well, collecting only 30 penalty points over the sixteen tests to finish a well deserved third place.
Scott Rayson, sharing the Civic, also had some quick times being second fastest on three tests. But then I think over exuberance took over and Scott collected 60 penalty points to finish in fourth place.
Shaun Leigh started the afternoon in the Suzuki Swift automatic but soon switched to the Ford Ka. But a wrong test and 70 penalty points took him down to fifth place.
Also driving the Ka was Mike Bichard, but like many of his fellow competitors started gaining penalty points as the afternoon wore on, finishing with a total of 120 penalty points.
Dave Williams drove the Swift all afternoon, but three wrong tests and 130 penalty points placed at the end of the list.
However another enjoyable afternoon was had by one and all.
