February Autotest

This was the first event to utilise the car park at the rear of The Bowl. In Spring like weather we started with 5 competitors. Unfortunately the Fiesta of Tim Torode, the handbrake was only working on one rear wheel and so Tim retired being very frustrated. However Paul (Franky) Morgan continued the afternoon with this handicap, in order to gain experience.

Eric Trump brought out the cut down Mini Special. He had an exciting event but started the afternoon gaining 10 penalty points and went on to gain a further 10 plus a wrong test. Thus placing him in third position.

Peter and Martin Dorey shared a Metro, and their times were extremely close. However Martin (Bimbo) gaining 2 sets of penalty points in tests 4 and5, whilst Peter kept a clean sheet until test 14. Peter winning the afternoon by 2 seconds.

With only one event until the end of the season the Championship is very close. Unfortunately Peter is away on holiday for the last event and so cannot better his score, as the best 5 results count. This means Martin must win the next event in order to win the championship, second place would leave them on equal score and a possible count back.
